Ferrari F80: 1,200 Horsepower and Farewell to the V12? The Hypercar of the Future is Here

Ferrari F80 2

The Prancing Horse stable has always been the champion of the fastest, boldest, and most innovative cars. With nearly a century of automotive tradition, the brand still knows how to reinvent itself—especially through semi-hybrid models. Proof? The new Ferrari F80 (released in 2024), a monster of power and technology built for those who accept nothing less than perfection.

Goodbye V12, Hello Future Tech

Ferrari purists may protest: removing the V12 feels like sacrilege and changes what an “hypercar” should be. Yet the Ferrari F80 moves away from that extravagant engine—too heavy, too polluting, and out of step with modern times—in favour of an explosive combination: a punchy V6 paired with multiple hybrid motors that deliver instant torque and staggering power.

This isn’t Ferrari’s first hybrid. The F80 draws inspiration from LaFerrari, the hybrid supercar launched in 2013. Even then, the ambition to replace large V12 engines was already taking shape.

Ferrari F80
Powertrain 3.0L V6 (900 hp) + Hybrid Motors
Combined Output 1,200 hp
0–100 km/h 2.1 seconds
0–200 km/h 5.75 seconds
Top Speed 350 km/h

With the Ferrari F80, the future is already here. A model this extravagant will leave its mark on Maranello—and open the door to more hybrids delivering instant torque and razor-sharp engine response.

A Cabin and Design Built for Perfection

Even as the F80 pays clear tribute to the legendary F40, it imposes futuristic, aerodynamic elements. There’s no traditional grille—instead, a sleek, elegant front dihedral, with carbon elements across the body. Note: the engines are mounted at the rear.

Originally designed as a single-seater supercar, the Ferrari F80 offers a driver-focused, mind-blowing cockpit: a racing bucket seat, steering-wheel controls, and premium black carpeting. It’s pure Ferrari DNA—built for performance and presence. And yes: there are no rear seats.
