The F1 season has been underway since the beginning of summer, and it will take us on a world tour of circuits. To stay on schedule and closely follow every lap, we wanted to delve into the watch collections of these champions behind the wheel of all these racing machines. Three major brands are primarily featured. Different styles and exceptional watches that perfectly suit the profiles of these outstanding drivers!
IWC, the brand for the elite
Six-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton won numerous Grands Prix, first with McLaren and then with Mercedes. Like many other drivers, he wears an IWC Big Pilot watch. Understated, with a black ceramic case, a red dial, and a matching red textile strap, it also features an 18-karat gold ring.
Valtteri Bottas , his Mercedes teammate, wears the same perpetual motion model, but he has chosen a matte black version.
George Russell of the Williams team, on the other hand, has opted for an all-steel IWC Pilot’s Chronograph.
Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz and Kimi Raikkonen have chosen Richard Millet

Charles Leclerc, who races a Ferrari, skier Alexis Pinturault, and tennis champion Rafael Nadal all have one thing in common: they’ve chosen to wear Richard Millet watches! The race car driver sports an RM 035 with an NTPT carbon case. This little gem comes with a hefty price tag, costing as much as a luxury car, a cool CA$216,500.
Carlos Sainz, who represents the McLaren team, prefers the RM11 Automatic Flyback Chronograph .
But it’s the 2007 world champion, Kimi Raikkonen , who lent his name to a technological masterpiece, the RM 50-04 Tourbillon Chronograph Kimi Raikkonen.
This watch, weighing no more than 7 grams, is produced in a limited edition of only 30 pieces worldwide. Its price tag is the only heavy burden, exceeding one million Canadian dollars!
Tag Heuer for Max Verstappen and Alex Albon of Red Bull
For the Red Bull team, it’s TAG Heuer that keeps time for drivers Max Verstappen and his teammate Alex Albon. Verstappen has opted for a Monaco, directly inspired by a watch from the 1970s and renowned for being one of the rarest in the Heuer collection. Albon, meanwhile, proudly sports a TAG Connected, a timepiece designed for today’s cutting-edge athletes who want to stay connected.
Now you know everything about the wristwatches worn by the top F1 drivers competing this summer in this new motorsport adventure around the world.
May the best driver win!
